Disclosure for Grooming, Day Care Vaccinations/Insurance/Health of Dog: I warrant that my dog is current on all vaccinations, has up-to-date insurance, and is in good health to the best of my knowledge. If my dog has any health issues, I will inform the groomers in advance so they can proceed accordingly. 

Aggressive Dogs: We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service if your dog poses a threat to themselves, other dogs, or the groomers due to aggression, behavioural issues, or health problems. If a dog becomes aggressive during grooming, it may require the assistance of a second groomer or more time to complete the grooming, potentially incurring additional charges at the groomer’s discretion.

Owner Responsibility: I agree to be fully responsible for my dog’s actions, including but not limited to any injury or damage to my dog, other dogs, any person providing services, or any other individual in the salon. If my dog becomes injured or ill, I understand that The Fur Alchemists may administer first aid or seek veterinary care if necessary. Any resulting veterinary expenses will be my responsibility, and I agree not to hold The Fur Alchemists or its staff liable for any resulting costs.

Matted Coat: I understand that if my dog is matted, oily, contaminated, or in poor condition, The Fur Alchemists may need to clip my dog to a shorter cut or shave it, as deemed necessary. This may cause my dog to experience cuts, skin irritation, or adverse reactions. Clipping a matted dog increases the risk of haematomas, and I acknowledge that The Fur Alchemists or its staff will not be responsible for any injury or discomfort resulting from grooming matted, neglected coats, or dogs with skin allergies. In the unlikely event of injury or complications, immediate veterinary treatment will be sought at my expense.

Risks to Dog/General Grooming Risks: While great care will be taken during grooming, I understand there may be risks involved, including stress, skin irritation, nicks, or nail injuries. Additionally, grooming may reveal underlying health issues or exacerbate existing ones. I agree not to hold The Fur Alchemists or its staff responsible for any injuries or complications that arise from the grooming process.

Ageing and Special Needs Dogs: I acknowledge that grooming may be stressful for older dogs or those with medical conditions, and that stress may trigger or worsen existing health problems, such as arthritis, heart, kidney, or liver disorders. I agree not to hold The Fur Alchemists or its staff liable for any health conditions that arise due to grooming.

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY disorders to become active and can result in illness, seizures, or the death of the dog. Although we take responsible care in the grooming of the dog, I acknowledge that the stress of grooming may initiate immediate or latent medical problems in your dog. I agree not to hold The Fur Alchemists or any individual performing services responsible for reactions to grooming.

Moles/Skin Lesions/Tumours/Other Skin Irregularities: I acknowledge that skin irregularities, such as moles or lesions, may be prone to cuts or nicks during grooming. I agree not to hold The Fur Alchemists or its staff responsible for any injury or irritation caused by grooming these areas.

Grooming Enclosures: I understand that if my dog is aggressive or anxious, they may be placed in a grooming enclosure before, during, or after grooming services.

Additional Charges: I agree that additional charges may apply for services beyond the normal scope, such as difficult grooming due to behaviour, skin condition, coat condition, or matting.

No-Show Policy: If you fail to attend your scheduled appointment or cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, a no-show fee will apply. This fee equals the full deposit for grooming services or the total amount for dog daycare services. Please note, this fee is not transferable or credit towards a future booking.

Late Pick-Up & Payment Policy At The Fur Alchemists, we understand that life can be unpredictable, and we aim to be as accommodating as possible. If you’re unable to collect your dog by the end of the day, we kindly ask that payment is completed in the morning—either via phone or bank transfer—so we can arrange for your dog to be safely transferred to the care of the vet clinic for collection.In cases where payment has not been received and we are unable to contact you regarding pick-up, a fee of $15 per 30 minutes may apply to cover staff wages. If staff are required to stay beyond regular hours, this same $15 per 30 minutes fee will be applied at our discretion.

We handle these situations on a case-by-case basis with understanding and flexibility, and appreciate clear communication to help ensure your pup is cared for with minimal stress.

Day Care Notice: Our daycare environment allows dogs to play and interact freely on-site. Please be aware that while every effort is made to ensure their safety, injuries may occasionally occur as a result of this interaction.

Photography: I give The Fur Alchemists permission to use photos of my dog taken while in their care for purposes including illustration, artwork, promotion, advertising, social media, or any other related use.

Please let staff know if you’d like to opt out.

Release of Liability: I agree and understand that by using the services of The Fur Alchemists, I hereby release its owners, partners, contractors, and volunteers from any financial or legal responsibility for injuries to my dog, myself, or any of my property while on the premises or during the provision of services 

Note: This waiver applies to all members of the family that cares for the dog(s). USING OUR SERVICES IS DEEMED ACCEPTANCE.
